Yesterday, the Calgary Flames announced the re-signings of C/LW Wayne Primeau and D David Hale. Primeau signed for 1.4 million dollars a year for 3 years and Hale signed a one year deal worth 550k.
Primeau's signing comes to a shock to everyone I think since the Flames have already re-signed Marcus Nilson. I personally liked Primeau when he was came to the Flames and I thought they should keep him. The signing really means just one less Flames prospect like Boyd or Taratukhin will make the team which sucks because I think youth is one thing the Flames lack. Hales signing comes to no surprise to anyone since he is a good depth defensemen. Overall I think both signings are good, maybe we will trade Nilson? Probably not.
Other NHL News, it is reported that the salary cap will jump to $50.3 million dollars which is a whole 6 million more than last year.
