Finally i have gotten around to write my first blog entry. I am a huge Flames fan so most of my blog's will be about the Calgary Flames but of course i will write about big news from the NHL.
First of all i would like to congradulate every player on the Anaheim Ducks team and their organiztion except for dirty Chris Pronger for winning the Stanley Cup. Scott Niedermayer didnt get nearly enough credit for his well desevered Conn Smyth win, until he won it of course. All the "experts" and broadcasters where giving all the praise to Pronger, but Im pretty sure without Niedermayer and his leadership they might not of won the Cup or even gotten to the finals. Anyways it is also good to see Teemu Selanne get his first Cup, but something tells me and the way he has been talking, he will retire this offseason, but that is just my opinion.
Also congrats to the Ottawa Senators for their nice playoff run, they need to re-sign Emery though. Hopefully the next Canadian team who gets to the finals can win that Cup and bring it home.
Now to the Flames and their most recent news. Matthew Lombardi and Marcus Nilson re-signing. I love the Lombo signing like all other Calgarians do. His speed and skill are just what the "new" NHL is about and the Flames need that. The Nilson re-signing though has question marks all over it for me. A million dollars a year for 2 years??? Doesnt make sense to me. He better earn it next year and saty healthy or else he is a huge bust. He has alot to prove after last year.
